Note: I would usually provide you guys a link to the episode I talk about, but since there’s been an apparent halt to the uploading by the usual uploaders due to copyright infringement issues, there aren’t any videos. If you have TFC or are in the Philippines, then great. For those that don’t have either situation, I suggest looking for the only channel that shows everything Filipino. *cough*
Gosh, I can’t express how much I enjoyed today’s episode of Lobo. It wasn’t so much about the kilig factor or the main story in itself, rather that I’m happy Nessa has finally accepted Noah as Lyka’s love, and only love.
The episode begins where it left off from yesterday where Lyka was getting ready for the big “family” talk between Nessa and Noah. As she was getting something underneath the bed, she sees the picture of Emil and at that same moment, Nessa appears and Lyka instantly knew that her mother and Noah’s father were once lovers by the look of Nessa’s tear-streaked face. She then questions if whether Nessa was the white lobo that pushed Emil to his death and Nessa sadly admits. However, despite this, Lyka “forgives” her mom.
Lady Elle also has a chance to speak to Nessa, stating that black lobo should not be put to death, rather should be helped because they are their siblings. I’m so glad Lady Elle was able to tell Nessa this because at least the poor woman doesn’t have to worry about Lady Elle’s intentions and it can finally be a step forward into their relationship as family. Then, though the atmosphere may have seemed to turn a little cold, Lady Elle questions Nessa as to why she would ask such things about killing black lobo. At first, I thought that Lady Elle might have started to suspect Nessa as the black lobo she saw during the Second Sign of the Red Moon. Fortunately, Lady Elle instead sees this as Nessa still being afraid because she was taken in by the Luna and was treated like an animal. The next bit I really loved — Lady Elle then assures Nessa that after she talks with Gen. Leon, Nessa can be sure that all lobo can live in peace. Though the talk was probably a couple of minutes, I felt that this little scene was vital for Nessa — it affects her perspective on the white lobo clan as well as her familial relationship with Lady Elle. This proves to be a positive development when Nessa asks Lyka if she and Noah would be free for lunch.
On the day of the lunch, Nessa, stripped of her worries and insecurities, dishes out a variety of food for the “family” talk. I totally love it! I love that Nessa is finally able to just live. When I thought things couldn’t get any better, it did — Lady Elle was invited by Nessa and joins in on the fun.
The writers aced this one because, although everyone is hiding the fact that Lady Elle is Lyka’s grandmother, the scene shows them as one whole family, together, enjoying a good meal and good conversation. It’s like they’re living normally.
Aside from Nessa’s improvement, things aren’t so sunny in the lobo world. General Silva kills Dr. Lee after he catches her with her bags packed ready to flee. Later on, Gen. Silva goes to the old lady that Lady Elle also goes to for the Update (lol) and here we discover Silva’s true identity — his name is Alberto, son of Alfredo Dela Rama . Seriously, I’m racking my brain trying to remember if that name ever came up in the beginning of the story. It’s great that the writers have added another twist as well as letting us in on Silva’s true digs, and also, it’s not to the point where we’re feeling like, “Gosh! Another freaking mystery.” Nay, this little tidbit makes me want to dig in further as to why and how Silva became a lobo — was it by bite (which might explain the scratches on his face and why he’s trying to exterminate all lobo) or by blood (which would explain why the Luna’s pharmaceutical lab was created to maybe find a cure)?
The old lady continues to answer Silva’s questions: Who’s the huling bantay? How can I become the strongest lobo? How do I kill the huling bantay? She answers as follows:
- It’s not for you to know because you have a more important want: to gain ultimate strength.
- You have to kill the last guardian.
- You can’t kill the last guardian yourself, you need the only person with blood immune to a lobo’s bite to kill him/her (remember, in Tagalog, they use siya which can be interpreted as he/she).
So, basically, Silva is going to try to, in many more ways than one, convince Noah to join him in his mission. Man oh man, every thing is leading up to the night when Noah is going to shoot Lyka (the trailer MV). My guess is, Gen. Leon is going to be killed by Silva (in black lobo form) and Noah sees this. This would ultimately sever whatever negotiation or peace talk between Leon, Manolo, and Lady Elle has and Noah heads the fight against all lobo.
On a lighter note, Anton finds that his tests have finally worked and he may have found a cure to loboism. Also, Nessa sees this, which probably partly accounted for her being more down-to-earth today.
As for tomorrow, the fashion show is underway! From yesterday’s preview (which I thought would happen in today’s episode — I hate it when they put your hopes all up and then nothin’), Alec kisses Lyka up on stage as they’re modeling the clothes because he was instructed to make it look “steamy”. lol Then in today’s Abangan preview, there’s a commotion and Alec tells Lyka to follow him and leaves. Noah then comes and tells her the same thing, but Sir Elton comes in and stops them — they have a fashion show for goodness sakes! hah So, in Alec’s place, Noah struts the runway with Lyka, half naked.
P.S. – Angel Locsin looks stunning, and I’m saying this as a woman complimenting another woman, thank you very much.
Also, it seems that the bathing suit she’s wearing in the preview is similar to the one she wore on her Maxim May 2008 cover. As for Piolo, enough said. *steams into a puddle*
So until then everyone! Happy drama watching!
P.S.S. – Man, is PBBTE2 getting good or what?
