Good morning! So far, Kim Chiu’s performance has been hilarious and as for Gerald Anderson, he ain’t so bad actually. 
Make sure not to compare the remake to the original when it comes to Kim and Gerald’s ages because the show purposely made their characters younger — which is fine since I don’t think these two blooming teens would be able to pull off playing adults anyway (they’re no Bea Alonzo!). If you’re loyal to the original, you don’t have to watch, but you also have the choice to sit back and just enjoy it.

I can only give you my guess as to why ABS-CBN chose to remake Asian dramas: for profit. They knew that in order to get into the game, they have to do something different. Diba, they’re competing against GMA’s version of “Marimar”? Yun lang yun… to make money.
As for Anne and Sam Milby, I don’t see it happening. lol Sam is just an older version of Gerald Anderson. I loved Sam’s character sa “My Big Love,” pero sa MSKM, parang hindi pa siya masyadong natural in acting. As for Anne being Jasmine, okay ako doon (she did well in portrayal of Badong in “All About Love”). However, I actually like that Kim got the part of Jasmine and her portrayal of that character isn’t OA for me. Opinion ko lang.
In Gerald’s case, I think they should have auditioned other male actors — doon I agree with you. 
I liked the first episode so far. I was laughing. I think Kim fit the role well but I do agree Gerald is a miscast. Some other actor could have given it justice kaso syempre aalma ang mga Kimerald if its not Kim and Gerald. Cathy Gonzaga and the actor that plays her brother are so funny.
@ raissa – That’s true: the Kimerald fans wouldn’t like them separated. Oh well na lang. Kasi, what can we do? The show already started, so we can only hope for the best now.
Para sa akin, I think Kim and Cathy are the ones holding the show together with their funny scenes. I’m always looking forward to them and usually just fast forward through all the dramatic takes. lol Sorry na lang kay Gerald. hah
Actually, if you asked me a year ago kung sino ang karapat-dapat mg portray as Pinoy My Girl, sasabihin ko si Kim.
Hindi sya OA, at kung “OA” sya lahat ng mga classmates ko, nagtuwa sa kanya, even though korny ang dating kasi pinoy comedy lang ‘to.
@ Cee – At first I did think that I may be cornied out by the show because of the Filipino jokes I thought it would be loaded with, but actually, there were only a few (e.g, Enchong’s “Sexy babes!” *cringes*). hah Enchong’s still cute though, just not when he said that.

I would’ve picked Kim also — she’s just right. A couple nights ago I was thinking about who should have been cast as Julian. I was thinking of Jake Cuenca, but I don’t know how he would do with Kim as his leading lady. Oh well na lang.
It’s not like the story can have Julian get into a car accident, get cosmetic surgery for his altered face, and have Jake Cuenca be the new Julian. haha
All Gerald needs to do is step it up with a more “mature” persona. Dapat niya, he should be dressed in the finest suits instead of the old-looking ones he’s wearing. That’s also partly why I don’t buy his portrayal of Julian.
