LOBO is crazy good! The writers are so clever they are really keeping the momentum. Bravo to them! I think they really lurk at PEx LOL good thing is the wolfies really analyze the show for what it is and discuss both good and bad points from it. No blind watching. In fact the wolfies are so observant that nothing seems to pass their eyes.

@ raissa – Yep, the writers/ABS-CBN crew lurk. I’ve pondered a number of times if I should hint in my posts on my wanting to meet Piolo. heh :D So ABS-CBN, if you read this! lol

As for Lobo, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the show just keeps getting good and I am surprised! Seriously, I thought it was going to start flopping down the drain (which, in my opinion, it kind of did after Lyka became a lobo, but picked up again when she was going after the Stone of Remus).

Also, I am freaking glad they chose to show the “shooting” scene this week — we needed some kind of “OMG” in the plot and we got it! :) Diba? I was wishing for this! lol

And it’s true that the Wolfies are observant — that’s damn good. For once, I actually feel that we hold part of the “reins” on a Filipino drama. Kasi, with all of the past dramas, I’d find myself clawing at my hair when something real stupid happens. At least with Lobo, a disappointing scene is pretty rare. However, I have noticed that the direction of the show and the plot have a different feel now — I feel that I’m not as confident as I was with the writers before. I dive into this with my post last week:

http://cafemelrose.wordpress.com/2008/05/26/lobolicious-monday-such-a-disappointment/

Then there’s the dumb scene that depicts how Lyka “lost” the Stone of Remus to Silva last Friday — which many Wolfies were furious with! lol IDK, I just feel that there’s something different — new writer, maybe?

Anyways, as long as the writers are reading our opinions and satisfying them while coming up with unpredictable (and smart!) scenes, then the show will be fine. I can’t wait when it gets shipped to other countries! Whooh! :)

Actually there was a change in directors not writers so the treatment of some scenes changed. I know Lyka “losing” the Bato ng Remus was kinda off and I am glad that wolfies reacted to it so in some ways the show edited the next episode to somehow ease that. I think it was a necessary move though but yeah the treatment could have been better.

Isnt it so nice to feel like we as viewers we are being listened to. I know disappointing scenes are rare in Lobo and if the are, usually the writers come up with something witty to bring us in again.

I’ve watched this show with my wife and cousin for about the entire season and at first thought it was mostly just cute, but its really just junk TV. The acting is truly bad; just about every scene is predictable. I’m no writer and even the average simplistic minded person in this world could have written 70% of the scenes. Writing sucks. Example, the gun that killed them laid on the floor in the church during the entire scene, it went through three hands before finding someone who could use it, all the crying and oh break my heart bull is just getting old with these shows. TFC, or ABS & CBN all needs to rethink their formats and provide some entertainment that’s worth paying for.

Red eyes, changing to dogs, throwing fire, cults, all the chocking, crying, and oh you break my heart with all your love is example of the mentality that exsits in these shows. The writers Tanya Winona Bautista, Mark Angos and Mark Anthony Bund should of seen this when it first started back in Jan, with only a 27% viewer rating.

If you don’t think so, wait until they start running Dyosa , Anne Curtis is a goddess in the upcoming ABS-CBN kapamilya show Dyosa, a fantaserye scheduled to replace the hit Lobo starring Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual.
Anne will be playing the goddess of water, land, and sky. Even the Greek Gods could do that.

@ Herb – Though I’ve moved to another site, I really wanted to give you a reply. First off, welcome to the site and I’m glad you’ve given a lengthy response. :)

Let me just say, I totally disagree with you.

When my family subscribed to TFC and GMAPinoyTV back in October 2006, I thought that the mediocrity of shows produced by both networks were all that they can do. However, when ABS-CBN dished out ‘Lobo’, I can honestly say that Philippine drama has reached a new era.

Piolo Pascual, Angel Locsin, Agot Isidro top my list of “Best Actors” in the show for their brilliant portrayal of their characters. As a Filipino-American, I can vouch that not many American actors can truly emanate such beauty, pain, and suffering from a mere paper, as Pascual, Locsin, and Isidro does. All of this is evident in every dramatic and heart-pacing scene they do, which, I believe, you completely (and ignorantly) overlooked.

“Writing sucks.” Hmm.. Is that all you can say about the writing? In my opinion, from all the shows I’ve seen ABS-CBN and GMA air, not one can compare its story to the rich history, mystery, and intrigue that Lobo’s been able to give its audience. Not one. I’m not talking about particular scenes, as you have pinpointed, I’m referring to the story as a whole. This is the problem with viewers — they want shows that just give everything to them, without dissecting anything. If you really watched the show, you would have found that the story and its issues can be connected to our own lives, yet can also represent current issues that the world is facing. The show provides the what-ifs and gives the viewer a choice, or so you would have realized.

Also, seriously, 27%? Are you a secret Kapuso by any chance?

Lastly, if you’ve gone over to my new site, you would have read my disappointment with ABS-CBN’s Dyosa. I’m not excited at all. In fact, I’m afraid that ABS-CBN is going back to mediocrity.
